Connecting SendWP to GiveWP

GiveWP recommends SendWP in its email settings and connects to it with one button. Once your site is connected, every email WordPress sends, GiveWP’s donation receipts and New Donation emails included, goes out through SendWP instead of your web host.

Donors not getting their receipts? Start with why GiveWP donation emails stop sending. GiveWP only sends a receipt once a donation is Completed, so check that first.

Connection Instructions

If you’ve already got GiveWP installed and activated on your WordPress website, you can install and connect SendWP by following these steps:

1. Log into your WordPress website’s admin dashboard.
2. Click the “GiveWP” menu item.
3. Click “Settings” under GiveWP.
4. Click the “Emails” tab on the GiveWP Settings page.
5. Click the “Email Settings” link below the tabs.
6. Click the “Connect with SendWP” button at the bottom of that page. GiveWP installs and activates the SendWP plugin (or just activates it, if it is already installed) and takes you to SendWP.
7. Create a SendWP account, or click “Already registered?” to log in, then choose a plan for your site.
8. Once the plan is active, SendWP sends you back to GiveWP’s Email Settings, where the SendWP row now reads “SendWP plugin activated.” If it says “Email sending is currently disabled” instead, click the link in that note to turn sending on.

Once you’re connected, all of your WordPress email (including GiveWP emails) will now send via SendWP. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.
